Analysis of pressure drop rate of damaged long distance natural gas pipeline by SPS

Abstract:The value of block valve pressure drop rate of long distance natural gas pipeline is often based on experience in the present time, but actually the value will influence the pipeline’s safety operation seriously if it is not reasonable, so it’s very important to simulate the damage situation. According to establish pipeline damage model by SPS, the discharge capacity and block valve pressure drop rate were calculated, provide a basis for the pressure drop rate set point; the influence on the calculation results of different damage location, damage formation time and broken size were compared, the discharge damage size is the largest influence factor of the discharge capacity, the damage location and size are the largest influence factor of the pressure drop rate, it’s provide guidance when calculate the discharge capacity, pressure drop rate and predict the damage occurred.
