The simulation of transportation of proppant in fracture based on FLUENT

Abstract:Depending on the transportation model of proppant in the fracturing fracture, then perform numerical simulation of it with the Computational Fluid Dynamics software FLUENT. As a result, get the speed and concentration distribution of the proppant, and the graph of the particle tracking .It shows proppant has a high speed at first and then slow down as a continuation of the time .The concentration of proppant is higher which is closer from wellbore and in the bottom of the fracture .As the distance in horizontal direction ,the concentration is smaller. In the whole process, the viscosity of proppant is lower.The result of simulation provides the basis for the transportation of proppant in fracture at hydraulic fracturing construction.
