Abstract:With the rapid development of LNG industry around the world, the study on key equipments in LNG industry chain becomes particularly important. LNG vaporizer is one of key equipments in LNG receiving terminal. In this paper, an Intermediate Fluid Vaporizer (IFV) used to evaporate LNG was investigated. The seawater is applied as heat source, and the propane is used as intermediate working fluid. One-dimensional heat transfer model is established for the evaporator, condenser and thermolator. Based on the model, the heat transfer area of every exchanger in the IFV could be calculated. In additionally, the state parameters distribution of fluids in IFV and the heat transfer coefficients of every part of exchangers are also obtained. The results, calculated using the method in this paper, are accurate enough to satisfy the engineering design requirements.
