Numerical simulation of factors affecting water flooding in high water-cut oilfield

Abstract:Aiming at factors that affect development of high water-cut stage, multiple of water washing, ratio of water injection volume and porosity volume were proposed, numerical simulation was applied to carry out research on analyzing factors that affected water-flooding in high water-cut stage, which included rhythmicity, multiple of water washing, ratio of water injection volume and porosity volume. For Gudong area, the permeability distribution in negative rhythm was in favor of water flowing down toward, which made the water-flooding status in negative rhythm better than that of positive rhythm; the bigger the multiple of water washing, the better the water flooding effect would be; for ratio of water injection volume and porosity volume, it was effective to increase the ratio in order to improve water flooding status in the early stage of oilfield development, however, the effect would be less significant in high water-cut stage. Measures to improve water flooding status were proposed and numerical simulation showed that the result was promising.
